March 19th campaign
As you all know, March 19 (29 Esfand) is the commemoration of the anniversary of the nationalization of Iran's oil industry, and although the political movement associated with this exploit was subsequently defeated and crushed by the 1953 U.S backed coup d'etat, the memory of this date remains for many of us a great source of inspiration and pride.
Being a few weeks away from the 54th anniversary of this glorious day, and in view of the dark shadow of war and foreign interference casted once again over our nation by the American and Israeli administrations, I would like to invite all Iranian bloggers who believe that " Democracy" in Iran could only emerge and flourish in a climate of independence, stability, peace and economic prosperity, to join me in lunching the "March 19 campaign" as per the following action plan:
1) Declare March 19th. 2005 as our "National Sovereignty Day" and change our blogs' titles to "HANDS OFF IRAN" on that date;
2) Post an article (on March 19) in our blogs stressing our commitment to our right of self-determination and explain in our own words why we oppose any foreign interference;
3) Send a copy of the same article by email to the U.S President at president@whitehouse.gov, or by fax to 202-456-2461, or by mail to:

4) Alert the U.S media of our campaign and seek support from their civil society.
Whether Scott Ritter's recent assertions are valid or not, I believe that this campaign, if conducted massively and echoed properly, could attenuate or at least significantly illegitimatize any eventual future aggression on our land.
I think that this upcoming anniversary is the best opportunity and the most appropriate one to condemn foreign interference in our internal affairs and reaffirm our right to diversify our energy sources.
For the sake of statistics, I would ask all bloggers (and other journalists) who support this campaign and plan to take part in it, to write an email to march19th[at]gmail[dot]com (Subject: March 19) and send me their weblogs' URLs along with their suggestions.
I will keep you posted on the developments as we approach the date. Meanwhile, please let me know your comments.
بیست و نهم اسفندماه مصادف است با سالگرد تصويب قانون ملي شدن صنعت نفت و بی تردید نقطه ی عطفی است در تاریخ مبارزات ملی و استقلال طلبانه ی میهنمان. به پاس این روز بزرگ، و به نشان وفاداری به آرمانهای والایی که این پیروزی تاریخی را میسر ساختند، وبا توجه به سایه ی شوم جنگ و تهدید و مداخله ی خارجی که یک بار دیگر بر فراز سر کشورمان پدیدار شده، از تمامی وبلاگ نویسان و روزنامه نگارانی که در پیشگیری از تعرض بیگانه با ما همپیمان هستند، دعوت می کنم تا :
یک - روز 29 اسفند ماه را روز حاکمیت ملی اعلام کرده و عنوان وبلاگشان را به این مناسبت به:
تغییر دهند "Hands off Iran"
دو - مقاله ای درمخالفت با جنگ و مداخله ی خارجی در وبلاگ خود نوشته و متن آن را به کاخ سفید، ای میل، فاکس یا با پست ارسال کنند
سه - مطبوعات داخلی و خارجی را در صورت امکان از این حرکت دسته جمعی مطلع کنند
معتقدم که این حرکت، چنانچه با استقبال و بازتاب مناسبی مواجه شود، می تواند حد اقل در سلب مشروعیت از هر گونه اقدام تعرض آمیزعلیه ایران نقش موثری ایفا کند
این روز ملی بهترین فرصت است برای اعتراض به دخالت مجدد بیگانه و مناسب ترین روز برای اعلام حمایت مردمی از حق برخورداری ایران از دانش و فناوری هسته ای.
